Schools across the country will hold ceremonies to launch the 2018-2019 school year on September 5, the Ministry of Education and Training has requested.

Hanoi (VNA) – Schools across the country willhold ceremonies to launch the 2018-2019 school year on September 5, theMinistry of Education and Training has requested.

Accordingly, the ministry stressed that ceremonies must besolemn but simple and designed to suit children and local conditions.

In preparation for the new school year, the ministry askeddepartments of Education and Training nationwide to promptly complete theprovision of teaching equipment and tools to schools as well as the repair andupgrade of school infrastructure, especially classrooms, libraries, toilets andclean water supply facilities.

They were required to ensure sufficient qualified teachersfor schools in line with regulations and strengthen inspections of educationalestablishments’ operation, particularly school expenditures and revenues.

The departments were assigned to issue codes of conduct andcurricula as regulated by the ministry, and offer pick-ups to new students,thus making it easier for them to rapidly integrate into new learningenvironment.

The ministry requested that activities during the beginningof new school year should be practical and effective, thus giving inspirationfor students./.

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
