Khanh Hoa (VNA) – The central province of Khanh Hoa’s Nha Trang city will splash out 7.7 billion VND (343,370 USD) on implementing a project to rid the stree𓃲ts of beggars by 2020, aiming to build a civilised and hospitable tourism environment.

Accordingly, a responsible group was set up to patrol such public places as historic relic sites, tourist attractions, ports and stations while coordinating with local people to address the panhandling cases.
If beggars are found in those areas, they will be picked up and taken to social sponsoring centres, which will provide them with suitable vocational trainings and jobs. With people from different provinces, the city will help them to get back to their localities.
The project also maps out a line-up of measures to raise public awareness, striving to clear away beggary in the city in the next four years. According to the municipal People’s Committee, the city took in nearly 1,000 beggars during 2010-2014, most of them coming from other provinces.-VNA
