Hanoi (VNA) –
A northeast monsoon wave is forecast to hit the northern region on October 12,lowering temperatures by 3 to 10 degrees Celsius, according to the NationalCenter for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting.

Temperatures in Hanoi are expected to drop to 19-22 degree Celsius, said TranQuang Nang, head of the centre’s weather forecast department.

Meanwhile, mountainous areas will experience a temperature drop to 15-18 degreeCelsius, he said.

High mountainous areassuch as Mau Son, Sa Pa and Tam Dao could see the lowest temperature of 12degree Celsius.

The monsoon is also setto bring heavy rains to northern mountainous areas and some northern centralprovinces. Rains are expected in these areas from October 13-16./.
