Ho Chi Minh City authorities presented the title of “Heroic Vietnamese Mother” to 141 women in 16 urban and four rural districts during a ceremony on January 2.
Ho Chi Minh City (VNA) – Ho Chi Minh City authorities presented the title of “He♚roic Vietnamese Mother” to 141 women in 16 urban and four rural districts during a ceremony on January 2.
Among them, only four are still alive and able to receive the title.
Speaking at the event, Vice Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Tat Thanh Cang expressed his gratitude for heroic Vietnamese mothers and fallen soldiers for their sacrifice to the great national revolutionary cause.
With the recognition, Ho Chi Minh City currently records a total of 4,574 heroic Vietnamese mothers.
Across the country, more than 59,000 women have been awarded with the title.-VNA
The construction of a monument to honour Vietnam’s Heroic Mothers began in Tam Ky city in central Quang Nam province on July 27, War Invalids and Fallen Soldiers Day.
The central city of Da Nang on December 17 bestowed the “Vietnamese heroic mother” title upon 255 women whose husbands and children laid down their lives for national liberation.
The People’s Committee of the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak presented the State title of Vietnamese Heroic Mother to 64 mothers whose husbands and children sacrificed their lives in the past wars for national independence on February 13.
Ceremonies to award the title of “Heroic Vietnamese Mother” to 321 women whose husbands and sons laid down their lives for the country’s independence in Ho Chi Minh City were held on April 21.
An additional 203 mothers in the central coastal province of Khanh Hoa whose husbands and children laid down their lives for national liberation have been honoured as “Vietnamese Heroic Mother”.
Kon Tum aims to eliminate all substandard housing by October 31.
