Over 30,000 students join spring volunteer campaign in HCM City
The Spring Volunteer Campaign, the 10th of its kind, was officially launched in Ho Chi Minh City in on January 14, with the participation more than 30,000 local students.

HCM City (VNA) – The Spring Volunteer Campaign, the 10th of its kind, was officially l🧸aunched in Ho Chi Minh City in on January 14, wit🦩h the participation more than 30,000 local students.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairwoman of the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Thi Thu said the campaign will contribute to social welfare activities and raise awareness of students in the city.
Volunteers will visit and support Heroic Vietnamese Mothers, policy beneficiaries and families 💞of soldiers in border and island areas, she added.
This year, the campaign comprises six main programmes, including a programme marking the 50th anniversary of the Mau Than Offensive in Spring 1968 and another introducing cultural values and customs of new year celebrations of Vietnam’s ethnic groups as well as other countries. It also features several programmes for disadvantaged students, children and poor patients in the city, along with soldiers in border and island regions. Participants will also pay visits to the Vietnam Coast Guard Region 4 Command and Tho Chu island of the southern province of Kien Giang.-VNA
A medical specialist training programme has opened in Hai Phong city for 19 medical graduates who have volunteered to work in various remote localities in the country.
Organisations and individuals at the third Xuan noi đao xa (Spring in the Far Island) programme held in HCM City on December 17 donated more than 15 billion VND (660,000 USD) to support island residents and soldiers who are protecting the country’s sovereignty in the East Sea.
