Partial adjustments to Hanoi Capital Region Master Plan

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has approved partial adjustments to the Hanoi Capital Region Construction Master Plan until 2030 with a vision to 2050.

Hanoi(VNA) – Prime Minister Nguyen XuanPhuc has approved partial adjustments to the Hanoi Capital Region ConstructionMaster Plan until 2030 with a vision to 2050.

Accordingly, the municipal People’s Committee is required to cooperate with theMinistry of Construction and relevant agencies in building planning schemes formodern urban areas with synchronous technical and social infrastructure systemsin the districts of Dong Anh, Gia Lam and Long Bien.

The work aims to reducing the population density in the inner city from 1.26million people to 0.8 million under Decision No. 129/QD-TTg dated July 26, 2011issued by the PM.

The Plan’s partial adjustments will be made in Dong Anh district’s Xuan Canh,Mai Lam, Dong Hoi communes, thus creating space for the construction of aNational Exhibition Centre and auxiliary facilities.

The adjustments will be implemented in accordance with management regulations,which were issued along with the Master Planapproved by the PM.

The Hanoi Capital Region covers the capital city of Hanoi andnine neighbouring provinces - Vinh Phuc, Bac Ninh, Hai Duong, Hung Yen, Ha Nam,Hoa Binh, Phu Tho, Thai Nguyen and Bac Giang.

Phu Tho, Thai Nguyen and Bac Giang are three newly addedprovinces to the region, increasing the region’s area from 13,000 sq.km to over24,000 sq.km. 

The plan aims to meet the demands for thedevelopment, and the management of planning and investment during the constructionof the region with duty assignment, cooperation, sharing and linkage amonglocalities. 

It also ensures the effective distribution of nationalresources, limits the negative aspects of urbanisation to the livingenvironment, and the impacts of climate change in order to turn the region intoone of prosperity with a sustainable environment. 

The master plan is also the basis for drawingand adjusting provincial level planning, planning for belt roads,inter-provincial highways, specialised zones, the overall planning for urbanareas, planning for new-style rural areas, and the overall infrastructureplan. 

It is also the basis for creating a database formanagement, recommending policies and regional management models. 

According to the master plan, Hanoi, Vinh Phucand Bac Ninh will form a key development triangle thanks to their advantages inindustry, training, human resources and infrastructure. 

Hai Duong, Hung Yen and Ha Nam are gatewaystowards the sea with the Hanoi - Pho Noi – Hai Duong – Hai Phong corridor andthe economic triangle in south of Hanoi (Hung Yen – Dong Van – Phu Ly). 

The three provinces will developurban-industrial services connecting the region to the sea economic gateways,while developing clean energy, support industry, logistics, health, sports andagricultural processing. 

Hoa Binh, Phu Tho, Thai Nguyen and Bac Giang aretransitional gateways between the region and the northern midland andmountainous region.-VNA
