Party delegation attends preparatory meeting for big events in Russia

A delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam attended a working group meeting in Moscow from April 21-23 to prepare for the 19th International Meeting of Communist and Workers’ Parties and celebrations of 100 years of Russia’s October Revolution.

Moscow (VNA) – Adelegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) attended a working groupmeeting in Moscow from April 21-23 to prepare for the 19th InternationalMeeting of Communist and Workers’ Parties (IMCWP) and celebrations of 100 yearsof Russia’s October Revolution.

Opening the meeting, head of the Communist Partyof Russia Gennady Zyuganov highlighted the significance of the centennial ofthe October Revolution, which set up the first workers’ and farmers’ state inthe world.

He stressed that Vladimir Lenin’s ideology, theideology of socialism and justice, is still alive and will be continuallybrought into play.

To welcome big events in 2017, he called forspecial attention to the dissemination of the Marxism-Leninism and the role ofcommunist parties’ members in defeating the fascism and liberating the workingclass.

At the preparatory meeting, 56 representativesof 27 delegations from communist and workers’ parties in such countries asCuba, Brazil, Spain and Portugal discussed and approved the two main contentsof the 19th IMCWP, which are the ideals of the communist movement and the worldnowadays, and the revival of the struggle for socialism in the contemporaryworld. 

Tran Dac Loi, Vice Chairman of the CPV CentralCommittee’s Commission for External Relations, gave some opinions on thecelebrations of big events this year and the enhancement of cooperation amongthe parties.

During their stay in Russia, the CPV delegationmet with Communist Party of Russia leader Gennady Zyuganov and Deputy Secretaryof the ruling United Russia’s General Council Sergei Zheleznyak, who affirmedthat they attach importance to and want to tighten relations with Vietnam andthe CPV. 

The Vietnamese and Russian officials discussedmeasures to promote cooperation between the CPV and the Communist Party ofRussia and the United Russia.

After the working sessions, the Vietnamese delegationlaid a wreath at the Lenin Mausoleum and met the Vietnamese Embassy staff inRussia.-VNA

Chien reaffirmed Vietnam’s stance on the settlement of disputes through peaceful measures in accordance with international law, particularly the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), as well as full implementation of the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea (DOC) and early finalisation of a substantive, effective Code of Conduct in the East Sea (COC).

Vietnam, Cuba sign agreement in judicial sector

The signing of the agreement is part of the efforts to concretise the joint statement issued during the visit to Cuba by General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee To Lam in September last year.
