Huong hails from the northern port city of Hai Phong and lectures at the Saigon College of Arts, Culture and Tourism in Ho Chi Minh City.
The short and straight-to-the-point answer at the Q&A session helped Huong secure the victory.
She also claimed the Sea Pageant Beauty title.
The finale featured 44 contestants competing in traditional “ao dai”, swimsuits, evening gowns, and Q&A session.
The first and second runner-up tittles went to Ngo Tra My and Dang Thi Le Hang from Hanoi and Da Nang city, respectively.
Extra prizes include the people’s choice beauty, the most beautiful contestant in “ao dai”, the sea pageant, the most photogenic beauty, and the friendliest beauty.
The first Miss Universe Vietnam was held in 2008 in Khanh Hoa province with the enthronement of Nguyen Thuy Lam from northern Thai Binh province.
