Philippines, Thailand agree to strengthen bilateral relations

Philippine President Benigno S. Aquino III and visiting Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha agreed to further strengthen relations between the two countries at their meeting in Manila on August 28.

Philippine President Benigno S. Aquino III and visiting Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha agreed to further strengthen relations between the two countries at their meeting in Manila on August 28.
In a joint press release after the meeting, President Aquino said he and the Thai PM discussed in details cooperation on trade and investment, security, and people- to-people exchange. He said the two countries are also committed to work towards the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in Combating Illicit Trafficking in Drugs and a Memorandum of Agreement on the Exchange of Professional Teachers. For his part, the Thai PM said the two sides will work to enhance their “Partnership for Prosperity” in various areas.-VNA
