Photo copyright centre to be set up

The Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists decided to create a copyright centre, aiming to protect photographers' rights to their work, said Vu Quoc Khanh, Chairman of the association.

At theassociation's congress on December 7 in Hanoi, about 500 delegatesrepresenting photographers from across the country agreed that thecentre was necessary.

Many photographers' ownership rights havebeen violated in recent years, making it necessary to have anorganisation that protects them, Khanh said at the event.

Organisedevery five years, the congress reviews the association's activities,sets up new plans and selects a new steering committee. The delegateselected Khanh to be chairman for another term, from 2014 to 2019.

The association has about 1,000 members across the country.-VNA
