Hanoi (VNA)♓ - The exhibition “50 years – 50 images” will open in Hanoi on May 6, taking viewers on a journey to explore Argentina from another perspective through stunning black-and-white photographs.

The event, running till May 15, is also to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Argentina-Vietnam diplomatic ties.  When one thinks of Argentina, the first things that come to mind are football and the fervor of its fans, the Pampas’s exceptionally fertile land, the legendary Malbec wine, and succulent steak. Argentina is famous for Tango, the Buenos Aires Obelisk and Caminito. The country is also known for its breathtaking natural landscapes, which range from the Perito Moreno Glacier and the Iguazú Falls to vast Patagonia. However, Argentina is much more diverse than that.

Visitors in the capital city will have the opportunity to admire the works of 31 Argentine photographers, including world-renowned nature photographer Diego Ortiz Mugica. According to the Argentine Embassy in Hanoi, with the language and black-and-white photography as the main driving force, Mugica with the teachers and emerging photographers from his fine art school of photography portrayed Argentine people and nature from different latitudes in all its generosity and magnificence. With a unique, in-depth and intimate perspective, the artists will offer a glimpse into Argentina through astonishing images. The maze of photographic perspectives brings artistic value to the exhibition and reflects a journey across every corner of the homeland to capture unprecedented moments of country rich in its people, flora and fauna.
From the mountain peaks of Jujuy to the port city of Buenos Aires, and all the way to the city of Ushuaia in the Tierra del Fuego region – the edge of the world, the exhibition invites viewers to discover the beauty of Argentina. It offers insights into the people, customs, traditions, and everyday life of its inhabitants, allowing a deeper understanding of their thoughts and aspirations. The event is also in response to the International Photography Biennale Photo Hanoi’23.

♐ Indian writer captivated by Vietnam’s Cham culture

Taking a journey to the Cham Museum — the modest building in Phan Rang –Thap Cham, Indian writer Ankita Mahabir said that the museum might not boast size but it brims with pride for the local community, featuring carefully preserved sandstone sculptures, portraits, and rare artifacts.

For years, the Vietnamese community in many countries rarely had the chance to experience Vietnam’s traditional arts and culture actitivies organized by the Vietnam government, except the annual event “Vietnam Day Abroad” that has been organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 2010. But the year 2024 marked a turning point.

In the context of international integration and globalisation, culture and art education plays a vital role in promoting the all-round development of Vietnam's young generation.
