Plan approved to support children in disadvantaged areas

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has approved a plan to mobilise social resources to support children in extremely disadvantaged communes in ethnic minority and mountainous areas.

Hanoi (VNA) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has approveda plan to mobilise social resources to support children in extremelydisadvantaged communes in ethnic minority and mountainous areas.

The plan for 2019-2025 aims to raise socialresources to improve children’s health and nutrition through medicalexamination and treatment, providing nutritious meals for kindergarten andprimary school children, creating conditions for children to take part incultural and entertainment activities, and providing them with warm clothing.

Under this plan, relevant sides will increasecommunications to call for agencies, businesses, organisations and people ofall social strata to join hands in the work.

State management of the mobilisation will beenhanced to ensure that resources are used in a transparent and efficientmanner and benefit the targeted group. Contributors to the plan will also behonoured.

The Ministry of Labour, Invalids and SocialAffairs was tasked with presiding over the implementation.-VNA

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
