Hanoi (VNA) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuccabled a message of congratulations to Scott Morrison on his election as PrimeMinister of Australia on August 24.
Morrison, 50 and former Australian treasurer, won hischallenge for leadership of the Liberal Party against former Minister of HomeAffairs Peter Dutton, by a vote 45-40.
He was sworn-in as the 30th PM at the government house inCanberra the same day. –VNA
As Vietnam and Australia have raised their relationship to the status of strategic partnership, both countries should now step up collaboration in the foundational sectors of economy, trade and investment, security and defence, education and training, and high-tech agriculture, said President Tran Dai Quang.
