PM decides disciplinary measures against some officials

Hanoi (VNA) –
PrimeMinister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has issued decisions on disciplinary measures againstan official of northern Hoa Binh province and some leaders of the Ministry ofTransport.

Under Decision No. 1245/QD-TTg, Bui Van Cuu, Vice Chairman of the People’sCommittee of Hoa Binh province for the 2016-2021 tenure, was given adisciplinary warning for serious violations and wrongdoings in the instructionof the 2017-2018 national high school graduation exams in the locality.  

On August 2, the provincial Party Committee imposed a disciplinary warning onCuu, who is also member of the provincial Party Committee’s Standing Board,Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Civil Affairs Committee, and head ofthe provincial steering board for the national high school exams, as he did notfulfill his role as head of the board.

In other decisions, Deputy Ministers of Transport Nguyen Ngoc Dong and NguyenNhat received reprimands for violations and wrongdoings while performing theirduties.

Another Deputy Minister of Transport,namely Nguyen Van Cong, was warned for his serious violations and wrongdoingsat work.

Meanwhile, Nguyen Hong Truong was stripped of the status of former Deputy Ministerof Transport for the 2011-2015 and 2016-2017 periods for his serious violationsand wrongdoings.

During its 35th meeting, the Inspection Commission of the PartyCentral Committee concluded that the TransportMinistry’s Party Civil Affairs Committee seriously violated the principle ofcentralised democracy and working regulations.

It showed a lack of responsibility, slack leadership and inspection, resultingin many law violations and wrongdoings in the process of equitisation and Statecapital divestment at several enterprises under the ministry’s management.

Members of the Transport Ministry’s Party Civil Affairs Committee and Deputy Ministers,comprising Nguyen Hong Truong, Nguyen Van Cong, Nguyen Ngoc Dong and NguyenNhat also shared the blame for the violations and mistakes of the Party CivilAffairs Committee while having to bear personal responsibility for mistakes incarrying out their tasks.

At the 37th meeting, the Inspection Commission decided to givewarnings to Cong, and reprimands to Dong and Nhat.

Truong was stripped of the post of member of the Transport Ministry’s Party CivilAffairs Committee for the 2011-2016 and 2016-2021 tenures, during a meeting inHanoi on July 16 of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat which was chairedby Party General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong.

Truong’s violations and wrongdoings are serious, harming the prestige of theParty, the transport sector and himself, the Secretariat said.

The Secretariat also asked agencies to impose administrative discipline on Truong./.
