Hanoi (VNA) - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc inspected progress on theconstruction of the Trung Luong - My Thuan Expressway in the Mekong Deltaprovince of Tien Giang on July 31.
It was his thirdvisit to the site since the project resumed in March 2019.
A member ofthe management board of the Trung Luong - My Thuan BOT JSC said the work hasbeen nearly 60 percent completed, up 20 percent from March 2020. The fullcompletion is expected later this year, as directed by the PM.
PM Phucsaid the work is significant for residents in the Mekong Delta and for regionalsocio-economic development.
TheMinistry of Transport was asked to launch My Thuan Bridge project as soon aspossible, as well as a highway linking My Thuan and Can Tho, consider Can Tho -Ca Mau route, and complete a 365-km section from HCM City to Trung Luong - MyThuan - Can Tho - Ca Mau.
He directedthe Ministry of Transport to submit plans on the toll booth on the expressway tothe PM next week for consideration./.
Construction started on February 27 on the My Thuan Bridge 2 to connect the Trung Luong-My Thuan and My Thuan-Can Tho expressways between Ho Chi Minh City and Can Tho, linking the two economic powerhouses of the southern region.
