Siem Reap (VNA) – Prime MinisterNguyen Xuan Phuc met Cambodians of Vietnamese descent living in the Cambodianprovince of Siem Reap on April 5 during his trip to attend the third MekongRiver Commission Summit.
The PM expressed his best wishes to them onthe occasion of the traditional New Year of Cambodia and lauded them forlinking the two countries together.
He updated them on the development of ties betweenthe two countries, saying that during working sessions, Vietnam asked the Cambodiangovernment to offer all possible support to Vietnamese Cambodians, especiallyin legal procedures, education and life improvement.
He also required the General Association ofVietnamese Cambodians, Vietnamese representative agencies and businesses inCambodia to stand side by side with their fellow Vietnamese in the country.
The leader also urged them to respect andabide by Cambodian law, contribute to building a prosperous Cambodia and maintainVietnamese language and traditional culture.
Representatives of the Vietnamese Cambodiancommunity wished that the Vietnamese Party and State will provide them withfurther support so that they can contribute more to Cambodia and the homeland.
