Hanoi (VNA) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has asked governmental ministries andagencies to spare no effort in support of the procuracy sector’s activities.
PM Phuc made therequest at a meeting between leaders of the cabinet and the Supreme People’sProcuracy (SPP) in Hanoi on April 18, where they discussed measures to boostthe effectiveness of bilateral coordination.
According toreports at the session, the two sides have worked together in buildinginstitutions, and dealing with crime reports, and criminal, administrative andcivil cases in line with law.
The Governmenthas directed relevant ministries and agencies to create favourable conditionsfor the SPP to exercise its prosecution rights and supervise judicialactivities, while the SPP submitted recommendations to the government andcompetent ministries and agencies in carrying out preventative measures againstlaw violations.
Addressing thesession, PM Phuc lauded the two agencies’ implementation of a joint resolutionon working coordination, which set out 10 tasks, as well as their wellengagement in crime prevention and law enforcement.
PM Phuc recommendedthe Government Office and the SPP organise annual meetings to improve theircooperation and highlighted the necessity of effective budget estimates for procuracyactivities.
He expressed hisbelief that the collaboration between the two agencies will produce goodoutcomes, but noting that judicial reform should not criminalise economic,administrative and civil relations.
Whileemphasising the SPP’s important role in ensuring law enforcement, the PMsuggested agency step up its IT application and accelerate the implementationof working coordination programmes with other agencies and sectors.-VNA
