Hanoi (VNA) – Prime MinisterNguyen Xuan Phuc on June 19 sent his sympathy to Chinese Premier Li Keqiangover the human and property losses in China caused by recent major naturaldisasters.

In his message, the Vietnamese PM expressedhis belief that under the leadership of the Chinese Government, people in the affectedareas will quickly overcome consequences of the disasters, restore theirproduction and stabilise their lives.

China’s southern localities were hit bydownpours and floods while an earthquake struck the south western province ofSichuan on June 17.

Dozens of people have been killed and356,000 had to evacuate from their homes as heavy rain and floods have sweptthrough large parts of southern China, from Guangdong province in the southeastto southwest China’s Chongqing on the upper reaches of the Yangtze river.

Meanwhile, the quakes in Sichuan’s Yibincity have left 13 people dead, 199 others injured and more than 140,000residents affected.-VNA
