PM supports proposed Vietnam-Yunnan direct flight

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has expressed his support to the Chinese province of Yunnan ’s proposal to launch a direct flight to Vietnam and build a cross-border economic cooperation zone, a joint project with the northern border province of Lao Cai.

Meeting Governor of Yunnan province Chen Hao in Hanoi on May 11,the PM said Vietnamese and Chinese localities, including Lao Cai and VanNam , need to further their economic, trade, investment and tourismlinks by facilitating transport connections and simplifying immigrationand export-import procedures.

Localities sharing acommon borderline should hold regular meetings and people-to-peopleexchanges to raise mutual trust and understanding, he added.

The host also requested sincere and goodwill collaboration for aborder of peace, friendship, cooperation and development.

Governor Chen said Yunnan would do its best to deliver oncommitments made by leaders, especially those regarding economic, trade,investment and tourism connections.

He suggested promoting trade through exhibitions and fairs, including the Kunming international fair.

The guest expressed his belief that Vietnam will achieve success on its path to prosperity.-VNA

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
