The Vietnam Cultural Heritage Association and the Korean Cultural Resource Institute co-hosted a press conference on October 25 to introduce the national writing contest and display of President Ho Chi Minh’s saying in Hangeul calligraphy.

The event is one of theactivities held to celebrate the 30th founding anniversary of diplomaticrelations between Vietnam and the Republic of Korea (1992-2022).
The writing contest willtake place on the morning of October 27 at Van Mieu-Quoc Tu Giam (Temple ofLiterature), with the participation of 100 contestants who are keen oncalligraphy and students studying the Korean language from Vietnameseuniversities.

The organisers will choose15 excellent works to be awarded and engraved on wood by Korean artists todisplay at the “President Ho Chi Minh’s saying in Korean calligraphy” exhibitionfrom November 28-30 at the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum./.
The World Records Union (WorldKings) and the Vietnam Records Organisation (Vietkings) on July 1 recognised “Nguyen Dinh Chieu thi tuyen” (Collection of Nguyen Dinh Chieu’s Poems), a calligraphy book on poet Nguyen Dinh Chieu as the largest calligraphy book in Vietnamese of poet Chieu's poems in the world.
Calligraphy is an ancient art form from the East, while graffiti represents a young cultural movement imported from the West and largely associated with hip-hop culture in Vietnam. An exhibition named “Dialogue between Calligraphy and Graffiti” held at Hanoi’s Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam (Temple of Literature) has brought audiences a new experience in creative arts.
Before the National High School Graduation Exam, Hanoian students eagerly went to Van Mieu-Quoc Tu Giam to ask for calligraphy works and pray for good luck.
