Hanoi (VNA) – President TranDai Quang has sent his greetings to the upcoming 38th GeneralAssembly of ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA-38), which will take placein Manila, Philippines, from September 14 to 20.

In the message addressed to PantaleonAlvarez, Speaker of the Philippine House of Representatives and current AIPA President,the Vietnamese President said Vietnam highly appreciates the AIPA-38’s theme of“ASEAN and AIPA: Partnering for Inclusive Change”.

The theme reflects an important developmentand the wish for new vitality for both ASEAN and AIPA, toward a better futureacross the Southeast Asian region and in each bloc member.

“I believe that AIPA, as a regional legislativeorganisation with four decades of experience, will continue to reform itselfand optimize its role in connecting law-making bodies in the region and strengtheningits coordination with ASEAN toward effectiveness and practical benefits forpeople in Southeast Asia,” Quang wrote in the message.

The President stated that the VietnamNational Assembly has been, and will join AIPA’s activities with an active andresponsible attitude in contribution to a stable and sustainable ASEANCommunity.

He also expressed his belief in the successof the 38th AIPA General Assembly thanks to the careful preparationof the Philippine parliament and close cooperation of participating delegations.-VNA
