Hanoi (VNA) – President Tran Dai Quang has emphasised the importanceof the care for, education and protection of children in preparing for andimproving the quality of human resources serving the nation’sindustrialisation, modernisation and international integration.

Investing in children is investing for the future of thenation, Quang said on August 10 at the third national festival of outstandingleaders of Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer Organisation (HYPO)’s chapters.

At the meeting, children who are outstanding HYPO leaders informedthe State leader of their learning achievements and organisation work results.

President Quang expressed his hope that they should continueimproving their learning performance, actively participating in organisationand social activities, helping their friends.

He asked Party organitions and authorities at all levels tointensify leadership and steering over the care for, education and protectionof children, and expand disseminations on child-related policies and laws aswell as investment in infrastructure serving children.

Attention should be paid to those who are children ofinvalids, martyrs and revolution contributors, and to detecting and preventinglaw violations against children, he suggested.-VNA
