Hanoi (VNA)🃏 – President To Lam on July 24 visited and presented gifts to war invalids and sick soldiers at a nursing centre in Thuan Thanh district, the northern province of Bac Ninh, on the occasion of the 77th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - 2024).

President To Lam, his entourage and war invalids, sick soldiers and staff at the centre observed a minute of silence to commemorate Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong. Since it was established in 1965, the center has received, managed, taken care of, treated and rehabilitated more than 1,000 seriously injured and sick soldiers. Currently, 91 such persons are receiving care and treatment here.
Encouraging wounded and sick soldiers at the centre, the State leader expressed his deep gratitude to the previous generations, wounded and sick soldiers, martyrs who have devoted their youth, health and even life for the national independence. On behalf of the Party and State leaders, the President praised the centre and the Ministry of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs for their performance in implementing policies for war invalids and sicked soldiers.
He requested the ministry to continue to coordinate with Party committees, authorities, organisations and individuals at all levels to build and improve the system of nursing centers for the wounded and sick soldiers across the country. On July 24 afternoon, President Lam visited and gave presents to heroic Vietnamese mother Nguyen Thi Cay, 95, in Hoang Xa village, Ninh Xa commune, Thuan Thanh township./.
