Prime Minister stresses local-level cooperation with RoK

Hanoi (VNA) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has said Vietnam attaches importance to expanding exchanges and cooperation between localities of Vietnam and the Republic of Korea (RoK), considering it an important factor to further cooperation between the two countries.

The PM made the remark at his reception for the Mayor of Daegu city of RoK, Kwon Young Jin, in Hanoi on October 12.

He expressed his pleasure at the cooperation between Daegu and Vietnamese localities, particularly Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City, and asked the Daegu Mayor to help encourage the city’s firms to invest in Vietnam as well as boost bilateral trade.

PM Phuc pledged that Vietnam will continue improving investment environment and creating favourable conditions for foreign investors, including those from the RoK in general and Daegu city in particular, to invest or do business in Vietnam.

On his part, Mayor Kwon Young Jin asked the PM to give more assistance to RoK enterprises. He said he would make the best efforts to boost RoK’s investment in Vietnam.

He said Daegu will devise more programmes supporting Vietnamese who live in the city like teaching them Korean.

He recommended the Vℱietnamese government to create favourable conditions for Daegu Bank to open a representative office in HCꦏM City.-VNA
