New York (VNA) – The Association ofVietnamese Students in the US held a cultural programme called “Vong tay nuocMy” in New York from August 18 – 20.
The event, the fifth of its kind, was attendedby Vietnamese Ambassador to the US Pham Quang Vinh, Permanent Representative ofVietnam to the UN Ambassador Nguyen Phuong Nga, Vietnamese and localentrepreneurs and Vietnamese students in the US.
Vietnamese youths in the US expressed their wishto return home to contribute to Vietnam, Nga told reporters, affirming thatthey serve as a bridge connecting Vietnam and the US.
Various activities were held during theprogramme, including art shows, sports, a career conference and charity photoexhibitions.
The Association of Vietnamese Students in theUS, established in 2013, has gathered Vietnamese students and youths in the USand contributed to the students’ lives and home nation.-VNA
The number of Vietnamese students in the US this year increased by 12.9 percent compared to last year, according to data from the Institute of International Education.
The Vietnamese Youth and Students Association (VYSA) in the US held its fourth gathering at George Mason University in the US state of Virginia from August 5-7.

It has fulfilled five specific objectives and five five-year goals, and met nine out of 12 indicators related to addressing basic social service shortages.

At a review conference held on June 21, Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Van Sinh praised the province’s scientific, coordinated, and flexible approach.
