Quang Binh, Savannakhet provinces step up cooperation

Central Quang Binh province and Savannakhet province in Laos have agreed to continue mutual visits as well as facilitating exchanges between Party and government agencies and mass organisations.
Central Quang Binh province andSavannakhet province in Laos have agreed to continue mutual visits aswell as facilitating exchanges between Party and government agenciesand mass organisations.

The agreement was reachedbetween the two provinces’ leaders during a three-day visit to QuangBinh by Party Secretary and Governor Vilayvanh Phomkhe from Savannakhetprovince from Nov. 2-4.

During the talks, the two provinces noted that bilateral relations havecontinuously developed. They have regularly exchanged high-rankingdelegations and have worked together to settle defence, security andborder issues. Both provinces will continue educating border people tostrictly abide by the regulations concerning the Vietnam-Laos border.

The two provincial authorities will hold regular meetings on bordermanagement and defence as well as working together to crack down onreactionaries and illegal trafficking and border crossings.

They will also work closely together in implementing a project toupgrade and plant more landmarks along the Quang Binh-Savannakhetsection of the border.

Quang Binh promises to continue receiving five students fromSavannakhet to study at Quang Binh University next year.

There are 25 students from Savannakhet province studying at Quang Binh province./.
