Quang Ninh: border trade with China still normal

ViceChairman of the Mong Cai city’s People Committee Nguyen Tien Dungsaid the Chinese side has tighten management in border gates so goodsvolume exchanged between the two countries’ border localities hasdecreased.

However, Chinese traders have still retained theirbusiness in border markets in Mong Cai city. There are about 800continuing as normal in the city.

According to Director of theDepartment Pham Ngoc Thuy, the local authorities are still working tomaintain stable prices for several essential commodities, includingrice.

In spite of the impacts caused by China’s illegal act ofplacing its oil rig in Vietnam’s waters, the number of Chineseholiday-makers to Quang Ninh increased again from June 1, Thuy said.

Headded that the local agencies will do their utmost to ensure safety forforeign tourists, including those from China, when they visit thelocality.-VNA
