Quang Ninh has first ornamental market

Quang Ninh (VNA) – The northern province of Quang Ninh onSeptember 1 opened the Uong Bi ornamental market – the first of its kind in thelocality.

The market gathers on all days of a week, with the mainfalling on Saturdays. At present, it has 50 fixed stalls and nine mobile ones.

Visitors to the market can buy ornamental animals, plants,antiquities, and specialties of the province.

The market is expected to diversify the province’s tourismtypes and products, thus helping lure more tourists.

To bring the market into full play, Uong Bi city’sauthorities plan to connect tours to attract more tourists to the market.

The northern coastal province welcomed 9.2 million tourists,including 3.2 million foreigners, during the first eight months of this year,up 25 percent year-on-year.

Quang Ninh province aims to attract over 12 million visitorsthis year, including 5 million foreigners.

In 2017, Quang Ninh received 9.87 million tourists, including4.28 million foreigners, up 18 percent and 23 percent respectively.-VNA

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
