Doctors from the Vietnam-Germany Friendship Hospital in Hanoi have successfully completed 23 organ transplants over the past 13 days, marking a significant step forward for multi-organ procedures conducted in the country.

Hanoi (VNA) -
Doctors from the Vietnam-Germany Friendship Hospital in Hanoi havesuccessfully completed 23 organ transplants over the past 13 days, marking asignificant step forward for multi-organ procedures conducted in the country.

The operations comprisedthree cases of heart, four of liver, and 16 of kidney transplants,with 15 organs taken from donors.

Each surgery wassuccessful, serving to prove the capabilities of medical experts and doctors atthe hospital.

The cardiovascularand thoracic centre performed two heart transplants on two consecutive days, September11 and 12, for the first time ever. The first patient wasa 33-year-old from Thanh Hoa province who had been diagnosed with cardiomyopathyfive years previously, and the other was a 52-year-old, also from Thanh Hoa, who was suffering from cardiomyopathy forseveral years and received an organ during the operation. 

The Vietnam-GermanyFriendship Hospital is the leading medical facility in the country in conductingmulti-organ transplants. It also supports other medical facilities andcontributes to saving the lives of many patients through the use of moderntechnology./.
