Reference exchange rate down 10 VND on May 29

The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate at 23,261 VND per USD on May 29, down 10 VND from the previous day.

Hanoi(VNA) - The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate at23,261 VND per USD on May 29, down 10 VND from the previous day.

With thecurrent trading band of  +/-3 percent, the ceiling rate applied to commercialbanks during the day is 23,959 VND/USD and the floor rate 22,563 VND/USD.

The openinghour rates at commercial banks all saw decreases.

At 8:25 am,Vietcombank listed the buying rate at 23,180 VND/USD and the selling rate at23,390 VND/USD, both down 20 VND from May 28.

At BIDV, both rates were adjusted down 25 VNDto 23,205 VND/USD (buying), and 23,385 VND/USD (selling).

 Techcombank also adjusted both rates down 20 VNDto 23,190 VND/USD (buying), and 23,390 VND/USD (selling).

During theweek from May 25 to 29, the daily reference exchange rate fluctuated variablyand ended the week up 1 VND from Monday.

The rates atcommercial banks also fluctuated, mostly ending the week lower than at the week’sbeginning./.
