Reference exchange rate goes down on July 26

Hanoi (VNA) –
The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily referenceexchange rate at 22,649 VND per USD on July 26, down 5 VND from the previousday.

With the current trading band of +/- 3 percent, the ceiling rate appliedto commercial banks during the day is 23,328 VND/USD and the floor rate 21,970VND/USD.

The opening hour rates atcommercial banks dropped strongly from July 25.  

Vietcombank cut both rates by 40 VND to 23,160 VND/USD (buying) and 23,240VND/USD (selling).

The rates listed at BIDV fell by 45 VND to 23,150 VND/USD (buying) and23,230 VND/USD (selling).

Meanwhile at Techcombank, the buying rate was adjusted down 40 VND to23,140 VND/USD and the selling rate down 50 VND to 23,240 VND/USD.

This week, the reference exchange rate opened the week down 16 VND butthen turned around to rise on Tuesday. It remained unchanged on the next dayand decreased on Thursday.-VND
