Hanoi (VNA) - The State Bank kept the daily referenceexchange rate on September 17 unchanged from the last day of previous week at22,690 VND/USD.
With the current trading band of +/- 3 percent, the ceiling rate appliedto commercial banks during the day is 23,370 VND/USD and the floor rate 22,010VND/USD.
The opening hour rates at commercial banks decreased compared to September14.
Vietcombank cut both rates by 15 VND,listing the buying rate at 23,210 VND/USD and the selling rate at 23,290VND/USD.
At BIDV, the buying rate is also being listed at 23,210 VND/USD and theselling rate at 23,290 VND/USD, both down 10 VND from September 14.
However, the buying rate at Techcombank went up 5 VND to 23,210 VND/USD butthe selling rate was reduced by 20 VND to 23,290 VND/USD.
Last week (September 10-14), the daily reference exchange rate was onthe rising trend for the first two days but then turned around to decrease forthe remaining of the week.
It opened the week at 22,694VND/USD and ended at 22,690 VND/USD.
The rates listed at commercialbanks also mostly followed the downward trend.-VNA
The reference exchange rate was adjusted down on September 12 after rising for two consecutive days since the beginning of the week, being set at 22,698 VND/USD, down 5 VND from the previous day.
The State Bank continued to adjust the daily reference exchange rate down on September 14, setting it at 22,690 VND/USD, down 5 VND from the previous day.
