The decoration was inrecognition of Lee Sang Mu’s significant contributions to developingagriculture and rural areas in Vietnam as well as enhancing thefriendship and cooperation between Vietnam and the Republic ofKorea, the VUFO Chairman said.
As President of theGlobal Agriculture Policy Institute and the Asia-Pacific AgriculturePolicy Forum, Lee Sang Mu has arranged for hundreds of Vietnamesemanagers in the agricultural sector to study rural development in theRoK, and provided financial support to help the country carry out anumber of rural development projects after RoK’s model.
Appointed President and Director General of the KRC in September 2013,Lee Sang Mu decided to open a KRC representative office in Hanoi,aiming to enhance cooperation with Vietnam via the suppliance offlood-warning equipment.
He also worked closely with the Ministry ofAgriculture and rural Development in implementing RoK’s officialdevelopment assistance projects in central Thanh Hoa and Nghe Anprovinces.-VNA
