RoK team Gangwon to play in friendly with HCM City

Gangwon FC of South Korea’s K-League Classic will have a friendly match with HCM City on June 9 at Thong Nhat Stadium.

Hanoi (VNA) - Gangwon FC of the Republic of Korea (RoK)’s K-League Classic will have afriendly match with HCM City on June 9 at Thong Nhat Stadium.

Theevent is part of the friendly co-operation programme between HCM City andGangwon province.

Accordingto Tran Anh Tu, chairman of the HCM City Football Federation, the HCM City teamconsists of players from HCM City and Sai Gon FC who are playing in thenational premier league.

Vietnamesemidfielder Luong Xuan Truong, who is competing for Gangwon, will also take partin this game. He is the first Vietnamese player ever to play in the K-League.

Hewas called up to the national U19 team in 2013-14, the U23 team in 2015 and Vietnam’snational team in 2016. After this friendly match, Truong will convene with Vietnamteam to prepare for the qualifying round of the Asian Cup 2018.-VNA
