Romania honours former Vietnamese ambassador

Romania has conferred former Vietnamese Ambassador to Romania Nguyen Quang Chien with the Grand Cross of the Order for Merit in recognition for his contribution to developing Romanian-Vietnamese relations.

The Charge d’Affaires of Romania to VietnamValeriu Arteni presented the order to the diplomat at a ceremony inHanoi on July 11.

The order is the noblest award that the Romanian President can give to a foreign ambassador.

Vietnam has topped the list of Romania’s partners in ASEANnations during Chien’s term, said Valeriu Arteni. Economic and traderelations between Vietnam and Romania saw remarkable progressduring his tem, which lasted from 2009 to 2012.

Two-way tradevalue had increased to over 100 million USD since 2010, making Romaniaa large export market for Vietnamese aquatic products.-VNA

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
