Run for tigers to take place in Hanoi next month

A half marathon race aimed at promoting public awareness on tiger protection in Vietnam will be held at the Ciputra urban area in Hanoi's Bac Tu Liem district on December 9.

Hanoi (VNA) - A half marathon race aimed at promoting publicawareness on tiger protection in Vietnam will be held at the Ciputra urban areain Hanoi's Bac Tu Liem district on December 9.

The event named “Run for Tigers” also aims to encourage the community to commit to not using products madefrom tiger, thus helping to put an end to the hunting, farming and trade oftigers in the country.

It is expected to attract the participation of more than 800 runners from 43 countries andterritories competing in 5km, 10km and 21km runs as well as a 3km family funrun and a 1km run for children.

Runners can register online at www.hanoihalfmarathon.com/register/ before November22, or enrol directly at Clickspace, No 15, Lane 76, To Ngoc Van Street, in TayHo district, Hanoi or at APS, second floor, Ciputra urban area, Xuan Dinh, BacTu Liem district.

The event’s proceeds will be used to support tiger conservation activities in Vietnam.

It is jointly organised by the Red River Runners Club, Sporting RepublicCompany and the local NGO Education for Nature–Vietnam (ENV). - VNA
