Rural bridge building programme benefits Thai Nguyen

The event is part of activities tocelebrate the 84th founding anniversary of the HCM CYU and to respondto the new-style rural area building movement of the local youth.

Workcommenced on the first bridge in Binh Thanh commune, Dinh Hoa district,which will be 18 metres in length and 4 metres in width.

The project, with a total investment of around 1.5 billion VND, is scheduled to become operational in October 2015.

Theprovince’s HCM CYU has presented 20 scholarships and 100 notebooks topoor students studying in primary and junior high schools in Binh Thanhcommune.

Thai Nguyen is one of the few mountainous localitiesbenefiting from the Government’s rural bridge building programme, whichthe Central Committee of HCM CYU was assigned to implement.

Underthe programme, Thai Nguyen’s HCM CYU will work with local authoritiesto construct 10 bridges in Dinh Hoa, Dong Hy, Phu Luong and Phu Binhdistricts.

Six of the 10 are expected to be completed in 2015 and the remaining four will be erected in 2016.-VNA

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
