Russian official honoured for 10-year dedicated services

Director of the Russian Centre of Science and Culture in Hanoi Lavreniev Alekxei Iurievich has been awarded with Vietnam’s Friendship Medal for his 10-year dedication to developing ties between the two countries.

Since taking office in 2004, Iurievich has activelyworked with the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations (VUFO), theVietnam-Russia Friendship Association and other Vietnamese unitsconcerned to hold political, cultural, arts, science-technology andeducation activities in Vietnam, which has helped bring the image ofRussia and its people closer to the Vietnamese people and strengthen thebilateral relationship.

VUFO President Vu XuanHong, in his speech, stated that Iurievich, in his new position, wouldcontinue developing the Vietnam - Russia friendship and cooperation.

Iurievich, for his part, expressed his honour to begiven the distinction and thanked the Vietnamese agencies for theirsupport during his tenure.-VNA

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
