Russian producer calls for film cooperation pact with Vietnam

“ Vietnam has many cinemas and a large movie audience,” said theRussian director at a meeting in the Hanoi-based Russian Scientific andCultural Centre on October 27 during the Russian film week in Vietnam .

The deputy secretary general of the Russian Cinematography Association,Lazarak Sergeny Vladimirovich also said Vietnam ’s movie industry isgrowing and this is an advantage for both countries to cooperate inmaking films.

However, Vladimirovich pointed out the absence of Russian filmsscreened in Vietnam’s cinemas over the recent past, stressing the needfor concerned agencies of the two nations to work on a cooperation pactin this field.

Since 2003, Russia has increased annual investments for the movieindustry by ten times, around 160 million USD. Each year, the Russianmovie industry churns out more than 100 films and only 4-5 are selectedfrom the pool to be screened during Russian film weeks overseas./.
