Samsung Electronics Vietnam opens modern village

Samsung Electronics Vietnam (SEV) Co. Tlt has opened Samsung Nanum Village to bring a more modern life to resident of the northern Bac Ninh province’s Thuy Hoa commune.
Samsung Electronics Vietnam (SEV) Co. Tlt has opened Samsung NanumVillage to bring a more modern life to resident of the northern Bac Ninhprovince’s Thuy Hia commune.

Built at a cost ofmore than 20 billion VND (909,000 USD), with 15 billion VND (681,820USD) funded by SEV and the remainder from local funding, the village hasa cultural house, a kindergarten, primary and secondary schools, alongwith a medical centre.

Starting construction inOctober 2013, the village, whose name means sharing in Korean, isexpected to provide a comprehensive environment for the commune’schildren.

The village is one of Samsung corporatecitizenship initiatives that targets low-income and underprivilegedareas for sustainable, economic development.

Architect Ryu Choon-so, who designed the World Cup 2002 stadium in theRepublic of Korea, devoted himself to creating the design model of thevillage.-VNA

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
