HCM City (VNA)
– Samsung Electronics said at a seminar in Ho Chi Minh City on September 9 that it expects more Vietnamese enterprises could ♏jo♔in its global supply chain in the future.

Lee Sang-su, General Director of the Samsung Electronics Ho Chi Minh City Complex, said Samsung group has so far invested 14.8 billion USD in Vietnam, generating jobs for nearly 13,000 workers.
In recent years, Samsung has sought Vietnamese firms which could join its supply chain and send experts to enterprises to improve their capacity. However, among 190 Vietnam-based suppliers for Samsung, only 12 are home-grown which could only offer packaging and spare parts. The remaining are foreign-invested ones.
Samsung Purchasing Director Oh Sang-hoon said firms must meet requirements in terms of technology, quality, product delivery, labour hygiene and safety, and most importantly, legal regulations. In order to choose suppliers, he said Samsung will visit factories and make small orders in the near future.-VNA
