Phu Tho (VNA) – U23 Myanmar beat the Philippines 3-2 on May 10 to top group A at the 31st Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 31) men’s football.
U23 Myanmar got the first goal just in the second minute thanks to midfielder Win Naing Tun. The Myanmar players continued to put pressure on their Philippine opponents and scored another goal in the 20th minute, but it was denied due to an offside.
With good physical strength and techniques, U23 Philippines leveled the score by Beic Hervas in the 34th minute.
Two minutes later, the Philippines enjoyed a penalty to increase the score to 2-1 due to an error of their Myanmar opponent.
The match ended 3-2 after U23 Myanmar got their second and the thir🥃d goals in the 51st 🐻and 53rd minutes of the match.
With six points after two matches, U23 Myanmar officially won a ticket to the semi-finals. They will play Vietnam on May 13./.
Cambodia’s U23 men’s football team defeated their Lao rivals 4-1 in their second Group B match held at Nam Dinh’s Thien Truong Stadium on May 9 as part of the 31st Southeast Asian Games in Vietnam.
Thailand’s U23 men’s squad earned three points after a comfortable 5-0 victory over Singapore in the second match of Group B at the ongoing SEA Games 31 on May 9 night.
The Philippines obtained a 5-0 victory over Cambodia in the first match of Group A in the women’s football at SEA Games 31 held in Quang Ninh north-eastern province on May 9.
Coach Hirose Ryu of Cambodia said he was satisfied with his team’s 4-1 win over Laos in the May 9 match of Group B in the men’s football of SEA Games 31, according to the national organising committee for SEA Games 31.
The ambassador noted that among the 300,000 Vietnamese residing in the RoK, around 3,000 are living in Pyeongtaek and contributing actively to the local economy. Ho expressed his hope that the local authorities will continue support the overseas Vietnamese community in the city.
This is the first time since the adoption of the Convention that a country has served two consecutive terms on the Committee. The outcome shows the trust and recognition that member states have given Vietnam for its efforts and achievements in carrying out and promoting the Convention, as well as for its active role, strong standing, and growing credibility at UNESCO.
