Hanoi (VNA) - The second and final working day of the 13th Party Central Committee's meeting took place in Hanoi on January 24.

Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired the discussion on various topics, including the review of Resolution No. 18, issued by the committee in 2017, which seeks to streamline the political system for greater efficiency and effectiveness; the plan to adjust the GDP growth target, aiming for at least 8% in 2025 and double-digit growth for the 2026–2030 period; reports on the Politburo and Secretariat’s performance in 2024; as well as the plan adjusting the report on the five-year implementation of the 2021 - 2030 socio-economic development strategy, and orientations and tasks for 2026 - 2030.

The committee gave opinions on the nomination of leadership candidates for several state agencies for the 2021-2026 term, to be officially introduced by the Politburo to the National Assembly for election and approval according to regulations.
