Authority of Seoul, the Republic of Korea (RoK) pledged that they will pay more attention to difficulties facing the Vietnamese community in education, healthcare services, insurance, consular and justice affairs, and working conditions.

It was heard at a meeting between the Seoul authority and hundreds ofVietnamese nationals in the host nation on October 28.
Vietnamese Ambassador to the RoK Nguyen Vu Tu lauded Seoul’s initiative toorganise the event, noting that it will help RoK localities in general andSeoul in particular have deeper understanding about difficulties challenging theVietnamese expats. He expected that rational policies will be given out tosupport the Vietnamese people in integrating into the RoK society.
He hoped that the Vietnamese people will overcome challenges and build a goodimage of Vietnam in the eyes of RoK friends.
There are some 160,000 Vietnamese in the RoK and over 150,000 RoK nationalsworking and studying in Vietnam, he said, noting that they are importantbridges to link the two peoples and promote the sound bilateral ties in thepast years.
Nguyen Ngoc Cam, Honourary Mayor of Seoul and Chairwoman of the VietnameseAssociation in the RoK, thanked Ambassador Tu and Seoul authority for theirconcern about the Vietnamese community here.
Seoul is currently home to some 15,000 Vietnamese nationals, who form the thirdlargest foreign community after China and the US there, she said.
She encouraged the Vietnamese people to raise their difficulties so that localauthority can better off their policies in the coming time.
Meanwhile, Seoul Mayor Park Won-soon pledged to pay due attention to helpingVietnamese community and ordered his staff to promptly tackle the issues underhis authority.
He also took the occasion to recall impression on his visit to ASEAN as aspecial envoy of President Moon Jae-in while highlighted the importance ofpeople-to-people exchange to the development of bilateral relations.-VNA
