Hanoi (VNA) - The need to sustain jobswill remain a top priority for Singapore over the next few years, Singaporean PresidentHalimah Yacob said at the opening of the 14th Parliament on August 24.
According to the President, the COVID-19 endemic amplifies the financialpressures faced by Singaporean workers.
To create more jobs, the country urgently needs to transform its economy andseek new ways to ensure livelihoods for its people.
Yacob stressed that the Singapore Government should consider how to strengthensocial safety network so that people can better cope with risks in their lives.
