Singaporean Education Minister to attend conference in Hanoi

Singapore’s Education Minister Heng Swee Keat will attend the 47th Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organisation (SEAMEO) Council Conference in Hanoi.

A press release issued onMarch 18 by Singapore’s Ministry of Education added that from March19 - 21, Heng will meet with other regional education ministers todiscuss strategic directions and general policies of the council.

According to the ministry, one of the highlights of this year’s SEAMEOconference is the launch of SEAMEO College, a programme to fosterdialogue among top education leaders.

SEAMEO is aregional inter-governmental organisation formed to promote co-operationin education, science and culture in Southeast Asia.-VNA

“I Love My Country” media campaign launched

Running from August 4 to September 2, under the hashtag #TuHaoVietNam, the campaign invites participants in two categories: “I Love My Country” video clips and “I Love My Country” check-in photos.

With a tight 13-month deadline, the move is under a strategic and urgent policy to bridge educational gaps, train the local workforce, and shore up territorial sovereignty in some of the country’s most remote areas.
