Singapore’s ruling People’s Action Party (PAP) and its main opposition Workers’ Party (WP)on August 29 announced their manifestos for the upcoming national election, which is slated for September 11.

PAP’s 88-page manifesto, entitled “With you, for you, for Singapore”, released in four languages (English, Mandarin, Malay and Tamil) highlighted the party’s achievements and vision for the future.

PAP also responded to challenges faced by the country such as healthcare cost, accommodation, jobs, middle income squeeze, competitiveness and threatens of terrorism, calling the Singaporeans to be the “new pioneers”, united, resourceful courageous and creative.

Meanwhile, WP announced its manifesto in 48 pages, divided into six chapters with 130 new recommendations.

Titled “Empower Your Future”, the manifesto focuses on core values of Singapore, economic security, education consolidation, family and social welfare, home and city, governance and foreign affairs.

The party presented its new mobile application for the upcoming election, making it the second political party to launch an app after PAP.

WP planned to run for 28 seats in five group representation constituencies (GRCs) and five single-me🌠mber constituencies (SMCs).-VNA
