Sixty-seven people killed in traffic accidents during national holidays
A total of 129 traffic accidents occurred across Vietnam during the national holidays from April 29 to May 3, killing 67 people and injuring 90 others, according to the Traffic Police Department.

The figures represented decreases of 6.5%, 6.9% and 15.1%,respectively.
On the nation's roads, 125 accidents claimed 64 lives and injured90 others. Meanwhile, three people were killed in four railway accidents.

On this occasion, traffic policemen nationwide punished over49,300 violation cases with a combined fine of 107.6 billion VND (4.58 million USD);and seized 847 automobiles, 20,067 motorbikes, and 210 other vehicles; and withdrew11,033 driving licences.
Meanwhile, the Health Ministry’s Department of MedicalService Administration said that in four days from 7am on April 29 to 7am on May3, medical examination and treatment establishments nationwide examined andprovided first aid for 270,031 people, of whom, over 99,700 were hospitalised./.
A total of 35 people were killed in road accidents across Laos during the country’s traditional New Year (Bunpimay) holidays from April 11-17, according to the Traffic Police Department under the Lao Ministry of Public Security.
There were 3,159 traffic accidents nationwide from December 15 – April 14, claiming the lives of 1,895 people and injuring 2,154 others, reported the Office of the National Traffic Safety Committee.
