HCM City (VNA) - Ho Chi Minh City’s annual spring flower festival began atTao Dan Park, District 1 on January 22 to welcome the Lunar New Year (Tet).
Orchid arrangementsare showcased at the festival, including Dendrobium Sunny, Ho Diep, andnumerous orchids from Vietnamese forests, namely Thuy Tien, Long Tu, Dai YThao, Hac Dinh, Gia Hac, Ngoc Diep.
Ceramic flowers,aquarium bonsai, and yellow apricots from HCM City, Tien Giang, An Giang, DongThap are also on show.
The festivalalso features agricultural models and dozens of other flowers, such as rose, pinetrees and cactuses.
Flowers arealso used to decorate the main entrances to the festival on Truong Dinh andNguyen Thi Minh Khai streets.
On theoccasion, the municipal Department of Transport, the organiser of the event, presented1,000 festival tickets and 1,000 bus fares for local workers to enjoy thefestival and the holidays in the city during Tet.
The Ban Flower Festival 2017 is scheduled to begin in March next year in the northern province of Dien Bien, together with the fifth Culture – Sports – Tourism Festival
The northwestern province of Dien Bien is gearing up for the Ban (Bauhinia variegate) Flower Festival, which is scheduled to take place from March 11-14, 2017.
The One Commune One Product (OCOP) Fair and Flower Festival opened on January 18 in Quang Ninh province to introduce traditional agriculture products of the locality for Lunar New Year.
Eight teams will join the tournament, divided into two groups. Group A features Vietnam, the Philippines, Sichuan Club (China), and Australia, while Group B consists of Vietnam U21, Korabelka Club (Russia), Taiwan (China), and U21 Thailand.
Despite strong home support and high expectations, Vietnam were unable to overcome the defending champions, who secured their third consecutive win over Vietnam in a regional final, following previous victories in 2014 and 2023.
