An exhibition showcasing numerous oil and water-colour pictures painted 💛by street children in Ho Chi Minh City, opened in Arcueil, a Parisian suburb on October 23.

The four-day exhibition is to raise funds for children with difficulties who stay in the ‘Green Bamboo’ shelter in HCM City .

The paintings depicting stre൲et children themselves, their outlook on life, the countryside, family members and school, were chosen from a painting workshop sponsored by the Association of Friendship and Solidarity (AFS) in Arcueil, HCM City ’s District 1 and the Association of Vietnamese People in France (UGVF).

The Mayor of Arcueil, Daniel Breuiller praised the UGVF and AFS for holding the event, adding that he hopes the young Vietnamese painters ⛄will continue to expand their artist✤ic abilities in the future.

AFS’s President Daniel Debris said that since 2008, his association has awarded scholarships to children from ‘Green Bamboo’ to take vocational training and French langꦇuage courses.

According to the organisers, on the first day of the exhibition, more than 10 paintings were sold at prices ranging from 50 to 100 EUR.

A similar exhibition will be organised in Arcueil between November 29 and December 1 this year./.
